Our Story

The journey of Fung Loy Kok Taoist Tai Chi began with a simple yet profound desire: to share the transformative power of Tai Chi with the Peterborough community. As a long-time practitioner, I witnessed firsthand how Tai Chi provides not just physical benefits but also an emotional sanctuary. After moving to this vibrant city, I felt a calling to create a space where others could discover this ancient practice, which emphasizes balance, harmony, and connection. In 2021, I teamed up with fellow enthusiasts, and together we began teaching classes at Mark Street United Church. Our mission was to foster a nurturing environment where individuals could cultivate personal growth while forging meaningful relationships. The local support has been overwhelming; seeing participants return week after week fuels our passion. Our classes have grown organically, guided by the rhythms of our community’s needs, and have become a welcoming haven for all who seek peace, health, and camaraderie.
