Our Story

The inception of Burnaby Seniors Outreach Services Society traces back to countless heart-to-heart conversations among friends over coffee. It stemmed from an undeniable realization: our seniors were feeling more isolated than ever, craving resources that addressed both their physical and emotional well-being. As a response, we sought to create a nurturing environment where older adults could engage meaningfully, not just with activities but also with one another. My own grandmother’s struggle with loneliness ignited a fire within me to advocate for seniors. Drawing from her experiences and those of others, we crafted programs rich in variety designed to not only support their health but also foster friendships. What drives me daily is witnessing the transformation of our members — the smiles that spread across their faces during events and the bonds that blossom among them. It’s about more than just wellness; it’s about belonging.
